MQD Press was founded in 2011 to focus on the publication of visually stunning picture books and wonderfully imaginative books for young readers. 2012 saw the release of 'Rusty: The Story of One Lucky Dog', a collaboration between Sophie Craighead, Derek Craighead and Maxton Beckwith. ‘Rusty’, based on a true story, follows a Golden Retriever mix from his tough life in chains to an extraordinary life of adventure. Rusty and his brother find out just how lucky they are, as they bound through streams, jump into lakes and even go for airplane rides. A portion of the proceeds from this book benefits 'Lucky's Place' and other no-kill animal shelters. ‘Rusty’ is dedicated to the memory of Jean Craighead George... author, naturalist and inspiration to generations.
